DM-Ice @ Y2L: COSINE

DM-Ice @ Y2L: COSINE

To verify or exclude the DAMA signal, more mass and lower background with lower analysis threshold required.

DM-Ice is now working with KIMS (Korea Invisible Mass Search) under name of COSINE, Collaboration of Sodium Iodide Experiment. For the first phase of the experiment, ~100 kg of NaI(Tl) crystals are deployed in Yangyang Laboratory (Y2L), South Korea. These detectors has been taking physics data since September 2016.

With 2 years of data taking with the phase-1 (COSINE-100) assuming a comparable energy threshold and background control similar to that of DAMA experiment, we expect to have comparable sensitivity with the DAMA allowed region. Stay tuned for COSINE-100 result!
